A woman claims she found a razor blade in a side dish sold by a fast food restaurant in downtown Atlanta.
Harriette Clay, an employee in the state Insurance Commissioner's office, says she bought lunch Tuesday for herself and co-workers at the Popeye's Chicken on Broad Street, next to the Five Points MARTA station.
While eating in a break room, Ms. Clay says she found the razor while spooning up a cup of dirty rice. Other employees also saw the razor in the bottom of the cup.
Popeye's corporate headquarters in Sandy Springs released a statement which reads in part -- "We take this claim very seriously and are investigating the allegation." The statement goes on to say -- "a foreign item of this type is not used in the restaurant and must have been introduced from an outside source."
Clay was not hurt by the razor and does not plan any legal action against the company.
