We enjoyed the 24th Annual Caring Chefs event at the Avenues Mall last night. The place was jam-packed and we saw a plethora of familiar faces. People, Food, Wine, and Entertainment EVERYWHERE. Some of our favorite tastes were the Ahi Tuna from Aqua Grill, shrimp and grits from Cafe Nola, and the tenderloin from Cellar Grill. There were also some delightful dessert bites from Edgewood Bakery. A few disappointments include the wonderful smelling (but not as tasty) beef-a-roni from Bistro A/X, the peanut lime noodle salad from Blue Bamboo was very good, we just had a problem with the noodles being spaghetti instead of a flat traditional noodle (obviously a personal choice) but their hoisin-chile slaw crisps were quite delicious. And the meatloaf from Sun Dog Diner was pretty good....but it was COLD. None of this really matters though, it's the thought and contribution that every single one of these restaurants provided to benefit the Children's Home Society of Florida. Job well done!
