We've been walking around the Jacksonville Confidential offices this morning asking everyone - "What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish?" and also "What are you contributing to your family's Thanksgiving feast this year?". Heres what we came up with: Lourie - "My favorite is mashed potatoes and gravy! Rusty (her husband) has been nominated as the official mashed potato maker for our family. I will be making spinach and artichoke dip." Joe(y) - "Mine is the turkey. I think its the Tryptophan in it that I like so much, it mellows me out and keeps me from being so hyper." That one deserves a LOL. John - "I like the candied yams with marshmallow and brown sugar topping! No cooking for me this year." Lucky Dog! Mike D. - The Editor - "My favorite item is my Aunt B's Macaroni & Cheese because she makes it with 2-3 different kinds of the Cracker Barrel brand cheeses and its effin' gooey and delicious. I will be making 2 chocolate pecan pies, green bean casserole, and deviled eggs."
So, now you guys know what WE are up to...what are your plans...let us know!
"My favorite Thanksgiving food: Rutabagas! No one ever fixes it except at TG Day it seems. Boiled until soft, then mashed with a stick of butter and plenty of fresh ground black pepper. Simple, delicious, and very autumnal!!! Parsnips with maple syrup & butter is a runner up."
