We have a bitch, a major bitch....we were soo happy when we heard that our most favorite store EVER was opening here in Jacksonville - Urban Outfitters. But we were soo very disappointed when we visited the new site at the Town Center. Like 1/10th of the store is menswear and it's not even the best of their stock. In addition, there were items that we viewed online as ON SALE that were not on sale in the store. We will continue to shop online, but dont expect us to enter your crappiest store EVER Urban Outfitters!!!!! We just left a comment on the Urban Outfitters MySpace. Here's what it says...."Urban Outfitters....why are all of your stores awesome EXCEPT THE ONE HERE IN JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA? Please check into doing something about that. Thanks."

Between the t-shirts and the books, being in that Urban Outfitters made me cringe repeatedly. I don't know, maybe the mass marketing of "hipster culture" just never seemed as revolting online as it does while shopping in the company of spray tans and backwards baseball caps.
christina... you obviously know nothing about urban outfitters, and in particular the store in jacksonville. spray on tans? are you serious?!?! i dont think a single one of my coworkers have even purchased any spray-on much less used it. and then backward baseball caps??? where in the hell are you going to see backward baseball caps? i know for sure that you arent coming to our jacksonville store considering that, once again, no one that works there wears hats. we all love our hair too much.
now on a more serious note- to the editor.
sorry that in janurary the store didnt meet your expectations. ill admit, the mens dept. was lacking back then but it has growin in size and in product selection. but it will never have the selection you see online or in orlando until it can prove that it has customers worth providing that much product to. see, if that product is guaranteed to sell in orlando and other high volume stores, why would they waste it on a city and store that has yet to prove themselves as serious shoppers? it doesnt make much sense. and the sale items you see online that arent on sale in the store- its online marketing. online requires to have a certain amount of product sold as well, otherwise the webstore could shut down. so since the demand for different items is different in different cities, the same sales cant be offered everywhere. when sweaters and jackets are still selling very well in april up north, they arent selling that well down here. so that means they put our stock on sale to move out that product. likewise, if something is selling really well in our store, but not online or in another, we will still continue to sell it at full price because it is still worth full price to our customers, however it is not worth it to stores in other climates with a different demographic of customers.
so dont write off our store just yet. give it time- we arent even a year old yet. you have to walk before you can run.
later. and for job security purposes i will unfortunately have to reply anonymously. sorry.
