New Restaurant - Espeto

Theres a new restaurant opening up in Avondale where Gene's Seafood used to be, on the S-curve. Its called Espeto (which means skewer) and will be a Brazilian Steakhouse just like Tento Churrascaria. As a matter of fact, we hear that two of the owners of Tento sold their portions to open up this new restaurant.

A soft opening is scheduled for this coming Friday, February 22nd, with the official opening next Friday, February 29th.

Be on the look out for a review real soon!

Ate there last night and it was great. Better than the website lol. The food was wonderful, and the taste of all of the meats was great. I am personally not a lamb fan, but it was not too much of a "gamey" taste. The caipariniah drink was tasty. For desert, I had something that had a pear soaked in some kind of rum served over ice cream. Will surely go back, just have to digest all of what I ate the first time.

I had dinner there last night w/ some friends. We were really impressed w/ the service and the food considering the place just opened. I'd definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone. Just make sure you bring an appetite!

We LOVED Espeto! My husband and I have been to the other brazillian steakhouses and this one tops the charts! The service was wonderful, the food was awesome, and the setting was beautiful. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!

What a welcome dining alternative addition to the Westside. Tastefully decorated, warm atmosphere, attentive service, delicious fare and a nicely paced dining experience. A wonderful evening spent enjoying each other's company while being served every meat imaginable. Try the refreshing rum signature cocktail. The desserts are equally yummy. I left fully satisfied but not stuffed. Thank you, Espeto.

DOG OWNERS BEWARE! My family ate there a few nights ago. As the other reviewers have commented there was plenty of food and it was all great. Had scraps on my plate as you can imagine (rib bone, fat etc.). Asked for a doggie bag and was told NO. I was told they didn't have a "permit" that would allow me to take out a doggie bag. Right! I won't be back until this policy changes. My dog is still trying to regain her composure.

Middle of the week visit with my family brought us into an unexpected 5 star establishment. The motive was south of the equator, the salad bar was full of fresh and tasty new stuff to try and the 14 cuts of meat carved right to your plate was a treat. The special house cocktail let me ordering 2 because they were declicious (I am not really a drinker). The deserts, yes, we left room for deserts were different and tickled the palate with different preparation of your favorites. Above all the rest was the service. Top notch. Any request we made was "no problem" and the attention of the staff to our needs spoiled us quite a bit. A little pricy, but well worth it considering all the meat and veggies you can eat while you are within the Brazilian music playing establishment. I plan on returning as soon as I can gather my entire family together for a REAL SPECIAL treat.

I ate there tonight with some friends and it was ABSOLUTELY incredible! I've been to Brazilian steakhouses before and this was by far the best..and also one of the cheapest!

Oh, and to the person who wrote about the doggy bags: they really DON'T have a permit for that. If you didn't notice, it was a very classy restaurant--taking the food home is not.

I have read all the comments but unfortunately to say this restaurant will not be our favorite. The filet mignon wrap in bacon was raw as well as the bacon..the pork ribs awful..the beef ribs were dry..at least the chicken wrap in chicken was good as well as the small sausages. The only thing we liked was the salad bar, not many choices, but good. The wine (we were at the happy hour) was $3.00, OK not excellent. Only 2 slices of bread on the table. Service was bad. The dessert, it was my husband birthday, was a simple upside down chocolate muffin with rasperry and chocolate drizzle...ouch!! bad!! Either we went early to this restaurant or the owners need to send the chef to a culinary school and the waiters to learn how to be more pleasant with their customers. We spent money, but we wished we had spent it in another place. No way we are going back. Not recommended at all.
