FlexCar

Has anyone heard about FlexCar? It is an awesome program that basically allows members to share low-emission vehicles for low hourly rates...from the website -

"Flexcar is the progressive way to get around town that saves time, money and the environment. Our low-emission, fuel-efficient vehicles are conveniently parked near homes and workplaces. Members use them when they need them, paying just a simple hourly rate that includes gas, insurance and maintenance. It’s far less expensive than owning and operating a car, and much more convenient than renting. After all, why own the car when you can just own the drive?"

What a terrific idea! The program is currently active in 16 "metropolitan areas" one of which is Gainesville at the University of Florida (the only area in Florida). The prices range from approximately $5/hr to $50/day.

We will have to keep up with this site to see how well the idea is received, we hope to see a quick expansion of service areas.
