If you are a property owner in Jacksonville you've probably already received your bill for the new Stormwater and Solid Waste Fee's. From what we've heard so far, the charges have ranged from $45 to about $95. What are your thoughts on these fees? Discuss............

I don't mind paying for services. In the past, garbage collection was paid for through my property taxes. However, this stormwater fee is completely new and IMHO completely absurd. The city blames this on the fact that we all voted to lower our property taxes (yes I voted for this too) and now they have to make up the difference some other way. I think that's a cop-out and they simply lack the discipline and creativity to be able to actually cut costs and run an efficient government. In other words, they're a bunch of lazy... and vindictive bastards.
I vented about this on my blog also.
To me, this is not about money. It's a matter of principle. City council members: your days are numbered.
