Listen up people, we would like to report an abuse of authority. Last night during our Cinco de Mayo celebration at Mossfire our awesome time was halted by an off duty cop who barreled down Margaret Street (in his PERSONAL VEHICLE), came to a screeching halt in a no parking zone (where he parked - halfway on the curb no less), and jumped out angrily forcing everyone off of the front sidewalk at both Mossfire and Dona Maria's stating, "everyone had to leave the patios because they weren't licensed to serve alcohol". Now, first of all, we don't know if either restaurant is or isn't licensed to serve drinks outside, but they have both been doing so for a very long time. It just seems a bit fishy that this cop would do this off-duty and in his own vehicle. We are wondering if there wasn't an ulterior motive to the whole scene. Unfortunately we didn't get a recognizable picture of the officer himself, but we DID get a pic of his fantastic parking job in the NO PARKING ZONE. Jacksonville's Finest INDEED!
