Downtown Parking Lot Scams

Our old pal feederi interviewed some older folks a few months ago who were victims of a parking scam near the Florida Theatre earlier this year and has posted the video.

"These unfortunate people were defrauded by a bum who posed as a parking lot attendant during the Film Festival. Besides handing the bum $10, they got a Central Parking Systems $20 ticket for parking in the private lot. A typical downtown experience for the uninitiated."

Since we are attending the Lisa Lampanelli show Downtown tonight and the holidays are fast approaching, bringing more events and out-of-towners into our urban core, we figured we would spread the word along as a public service.

I agree with anonymous, someone needs a hobby.

That man filming is a racist. I don't know anyone that will eat there and give that (expletives omitted) money.

Thanks for passing along the info, though. It's sad for the people who don't frequent the area. At least one of his videos were useful.

I once parked behind the courthouse near TSI, and a man came up to me, hauling a trashcan (I suppose to appear more legitimate). The man said he noticed I didn't pay when I came in. I hadn't paid in the past 3+ years I'd been parking there so I figured something strange about the request. I played along and told him that if I get a ticket, I'd happily pay. He then kind of mumbled and walked off.

that kind of thing happens almost constantly in big cities. It's a daily occurrence in Atlanta.
