Did you Riverside/Avondale peeps know that Kickbacks Gastropub on King Street delivers? That's right, Kickbacks will deliver anything from their HUGE menu right to your front door (delivery area limited call for details). If you get the munchies anytime between the wee hours of the morning til well after midnight, give the place a call. We recommend the Chicken Africas, of course. Here is the menu, Click each picture for a larger/more legible view.

Kickbacks as been delivering for awhile now.
yeah, it makes me want to throw up, just like their food....
Anyone else think our food sucks? Be honest...I always appreciate feedback, negative or positive. My biased opinion is that the food is the best effin value in town, but my opinion doesn't really matter...Steve at Kickbacks.
I think it's very good bar food. If they delivered out to Springfield, I'd do it. A lot. And tip ridiculously.
We will deliver to Springfield if you "tip ridiculously". Tell them on the phone, I said it was O.K. Steve
eah, seriously guys, the food so doesn't suck. Id have to say that everything Ive ever ordered there was good, if not great! (Chicken Africas). Great Wings. The breakfast platter #1 is good and way more than I can ever eat. Not to mention the fact that they will deliver anything on the menu and will even work with you to make anything you want. Thanks Steve!

Jax Confidential should realize that there are other better, much better places around the area than this hole-vagrant infested nasty sandwich shop, you are really up their a--, they dont deserve the posting you gave them.
How long has it been since you have been into Kickbacks Gastropub "anonymous"? You are clearly not right in the head or just judging the place prior to March of 2008. Steve @ Kickbacks.
On second thought, "anonymous", why don't you come into Kickbacks, introduce yourself to me, (if I'm not in, have my staff call me), I will treat you (and family if applicable) to a meal, and let's see if your opinion is unchanged. I would love the opportunity to sway your opinion if you can stomach the thought of coming into our hell hole. I am not satisfied until everyone that comes through the door is happy and I find it hard to believe that somehow you slipped through the cracks. I look forward to hopefully meeting you. Steve Flores.
i am compelled to respond to the anonymous hater that is leaving the nasty comments. it's obvious you haven't been in kickbacks in a really long time. the spot has been improving daily ever since the new owner took over and i'm personally offended at your slams on the clientel. my friends and i are professionals in jax and patronize KB 3-4 times a week! the food is great and i always have a good time. so stop hatin' and use that energy for something good. - lexi
i'll like to complain about the questionable looking kitchen in this joint. it's been reported that the cooks have to wear rubber boots because there's backwash from the floor drains. not sanitary and it's a health hazard. can anyone debunk this theory? and btw, in my opinion, their food is not worth reviewing.
Is the editor having sex with the owner? Why all the promotions for this place? The block is FAMOUS for crack dealers and muggings so if you go there, wear a bullet proof vest, bring a gun and a bodyguard. We like Biscottis!
I wish! Steve is HOT
and why has this blog not reported on the recent purse snatchings right outside this establishment? doesn't sound like a very safe place.
The anonymous fool sure knows a lot about the place he/she doesn't go to...Kickbacks is amazing, deal with it and go get a job...vagrant.
ummm... maybe kickbacks should step up and answer some of these questions... these are valid concerns
YES!!! I too believe that Kickbacks, the restaurant, physical building made of metal bricks and stone, should miraculously come to life and "answer these questions" that people have posted in these comments.
Does the building even read this blog?
What? dosent this place have an owner? he should answer the dirty floor, water backing up through drains question raised by someone earlier, I was going to try the place till I read that posting, As for the comment by "batteries" that guy must be high on something, perhaps he got high on something he got there.
Why isn't 'Steve' or someone at Kickbacks not answering these questions?
In response to the previous comments, yes there have been a time or two in our 3 years of business when our grease trap has backed up and there has been a time or two when the toilets have overflowed and one time when hurrican water came in through the foundation. Things happen to 90 year old buildings...No, the kitchen crew does not wear boots and they are not sitting on the floor preparing food. The reason why no one has responded to the comments yet is because we are very busy trying to improve an already successful business, Management - Mike
Any response is better than none if you care at all about your business.
There are 4 posts out of 22 from the owner and management. Pay attention retards!
Question: Have any of you people complaining been there recently and seen these things with your own eyes or are you going off of old hear say from way back when. This place is packed more so than most places in Riverside. Their list of loyal customers grows constantly. I've got to admit the place used to be a crap hole before Mike & Steve worked their wonderful magic, but now it's one of my favorite places ever. If you're not satisfied with something, Steve will bend over backwards to make it right. As for the mugging and other crime that's happened in that area... have you EVER known Riverside not to have some sort of crime??? Seriously, it's not as if Kickbacks wants crime to happen outside of their establishment. If anyone remembers what Riverside USED to be like, it would be agreed that crime happens much less than it used to. Get all your facts straight before making accusations, otherwise you just look like a jerk.
I personally would love to respond one last time, but right now I am trying to make sure that the 160 people currently eating at my shit hole leave satisfied...then I will be busy making sure the 150-200 people coming later for breakfast and late night dinners will be taken care of. Standby...Steve at Kickbacks...
give this guy a break, it is tough to try to survive in this hostile business environ much less having to deal with a bunch of bitchy queens, gay men are IMPOSSIBLE to please and every one knows it. we are never happy with anything
If you are so diluted as to think that Kickbacks is a shit hole and want to do nothing but talk bad about the place, then don't go there. You not being there will only make the place better. Kickbacks is a constantly improving place that you can always get face time with the Management/Owners. If you have a problem with the place why don't you stop hiding behind your computer monitor and tell them to their face what you think of it. But might I suggest that before you do so, actually try some of the food, drink some of their extensive beer selection and enjoy the always entertaining atmosphere. Until then, shut the fuck up and go back to wasting peoples time on other blogs.
I have to say, there sure are a lot of people willing to critique but few willing to name themselves. Man up or do not comment. My name is Jeff P. and I graduated from culinary school several years ago. Though this does not make me an expert it does give me reason to respond to the negatives. If you have all had such a terrible experiance, why have none of you brought it to the attention of the management before bashing them on an open forum. The is not only cowardly it is unsubstantiated. If you have not given them the ability to correct what ever gripes you have then you are as much to blame as the restaurant. Think past your ability to offer uneducated reviews and realize you are obviously a minority in this. The things you say have consequence. Though, by the sounds of things you probably want the restaurant to close, it goes farther than ruining profits for an owner, this place employees people who rely on this job to feed their families. I have been in this business for 20 years in some form or another, and you sound more like an angered employee than an actual patron with a legitiate gripe. The food is not Le Cordon Bleu but it is very good. I and my family eat there on occasion and find it great. And never, I stress never, have I worried about my safety in or out of the restaurant.
