Last July Starbucks announced that it would be closing 600 stores nationwide and we told you guys that the Downtown location at 11 East Forsyth would be one of the casualties. Well, its official, Jacksonville Confidential reader Krista informs us that a sign on the window says it will close it's doors forever next Friday, April 24th. I am puzzled why this location is slated for closing. It always seems busy when I go there - and the other location down at the Landing is far enough away to avoid poaching customers.
Is there any chance that the location could be converted to an independent coffee house, like what was done with Bad Ass over in Tinseltown? That transition went pretty smooth.
