Tonight, June 2nd at 6:30pm, Kickbacks Gastropub will be having their second beer dinner thanks to Terrapin Brewery!! The event is sold out, but if you really want to go they will try to squeeze you in, here are more details about the dinner from Steve at Kickbacks - If you are interested in a member of my staff driving you to and from Kickbacks the evening of the event please speak to me directly and we can coordinate this service. We are serious about your safety and enjoyment and if this will help, we are happy to make arrangements. The cost of the Beer Dinner is $59.00. This cost does not include tax and gratuity. We will add a 20% gratuity to the cost of each reservation. Logistically this will help us tremendously. Do not worry about tipping the evening of the event. I will disperse the pooled tips the evening of the event to my staff. Chef Jon and Chef Gary are currently planning the pairings for this dinner; the food menu is not yet complete. If you require vegetarian pairings please let us know when your reservation is purchased. I apologize in advance if you need to see a food menu before deciding whether or not to purchase a reservation. The process is very fluid and it gives us more options to make for a better dinner if we continue to tweak the food menu right up to the last minute. You are welcome to contact me directly if you want rough details on food pairings before making a decision. We will have 6 courses of food at this event! There will be 10 courses of beer for this dinner!!! The first beer will be a "reception" beer and will not be paired with food. Sunray Wheat is not yet in Jacksonville and we will have it on tap for this event! The second beer will be Rye Pale Ale on tap and it will be paired with a course of food. Thirdly, we will be pouring Rye Pale Ale from an oak cask!!!! The fourth beer course will be bottled India Style Brown Ale paired with the second food course. The fifth beer will be India Style Brown Ale from an oak cask!!!! The sixth beer course will be Rye Squared on tap, paired with a food course. The seventh beer will be bottles of Monk's Revenge! In my opinion, the best beer ever made in America. This will also be paired with a food course. The 8th beer also is not yet available in the marketplace, we will be tapping a keg of 90 Shelling, the new "side project", a scotch ale, to be paired with the 5th food course! The 9th beer is paired with our desert course...we will be tapping a keg of "Dos Cocoas" Chocolate Porter! The icing on the cake is our 10th beer of the evening...Wake 'n' Bake Coffee Oatmeal Imperial Stout (bottle)!!!!! 5 kegs, 2 casks, 3 bottles! I realize this is just insane, but have fun with it...the beers of Terrapin Brewery are to be celebrated and that's just what we intend to do. You may reserve seats for this event several different ways. You may call the restaurant at 904-388-9551 and pay with credit card over the phone, ask for me, or anyone else may also help you. You may text me your credit card number and expiration date and I will process for you or you may pay with cash or credit in person at Kickbacks. Important...I will be making placemats and a seating chart for the event. If you have special seating requests, please let me know. I may, for example, seat 3 different two tops at a 6 top table. Again, for logistical reasons, please make any special requests in advance and please respect the placemats/seating arrangement when you arrive for the dinner. Don't hesitate to contact me directly with any questions. (email kickbacks@comcast.net or call 904-388-9551), Thank you so much in advance for your support and cooperation." We're sorry for the short notice on this one, but we do have the dates for the next two Beer Dinners, so be on the lookout for future information on beer dinner #3 with Samuel Adams on July 6th and beer dinner #4 with Unibroue on August 10th."Reservations for this event are limited and will be sold on a first come first serve basis. We will limit the number of seats for logistical reasons and to allow our regular customers to still patronize us during the time of the dinner. We will make every effort to remain organized during the dinner, but we ask that you allow 3-4 hours of your time for this event. There are some high gravity beers to be poured and a large quantity of beer so spreading a dinner over a 3-4 hour period is a good thing, especially when you're having fun.
