Engrish

Jacksonville Confidential reader Jeffrey S. sent us over a plethora of Engrish pics from Pompeii Coal Fired Pizza (2134 Park Avenue) in Orange Park. Here's what he said in his e-mail -

"Just had dinner at Pompeii coal fired pizza located south of 295 on 17 (after Kingsley). Wonderful pizza and food, but I believe that a second grader proofread the menus (which is odd b/c their takeout menu is correct. My favorite is the "Meet Calzone" (which I had to have, and it was terrific!). I ran out of memory in my phone taking these and was not able to document the chalk board misspellings, which included lasagna and a few other basics.

Thought you might enjoy these, and you guys should go check this place out. Pretty solid food from the calzones, to the wings, to the pizza!"

As you guys can see, Jeff sent over quite a few pictures. We're wondering if maybe the "Wiings" and "Sandwiiches" are just a play on "Pompeii", but "Meet", that has to be our favorite too. We also looked up "Peregrina Water" and found that is an extract from Ferns used, mostly, in cosmetics. They must've meant Pellegrino. Check out these pretty blurry pics of the offenses.

The "ii" thong could be a play on their name "Pompeii" but theres no excuse fot the Meet Calzone, haha

I thought the ii thing could be that too, but they did not do this for other words with ii's like pizza, among others.
