Al Hilm Restaurant Coming to Riverside

Certainly you guys remember the short lived Vienna Garden Pizza Restaurant and Beer Garden that was located at the corner of King and Forbes Streets in Riverside (2677 Forbes Street), right? Well Joe(y) has informed us that the site is going to be reopening soon, under new ownership, as the Al Hilm The Dream Cafe and Hookah Bar. We don't have much more information at the moment but assure you that as soon as we do, we will pass it along. Good luck Al Hilm!

It's such a crap building. I hope they do something to spruce up the outside. I drove by yesterday and it still looked trashy.

Really? A hookah bar? Good luck.

I concur.

I'm just waiting for the picture of the dog pooping on the sidewalk next to the building......

Mark said...

Oh no.

I used to live next door and the Vienna Garden just never made sense to me. And now another Hookah bar to compete with Casbah? They can't be serious.

@PAX, youre referring to the "dog of doom" Hopefully they dont find that dog in their yard.

The building wasn't so great, no doubt, but the main problem with "Vienna Pizza and Beer Garden and Restaurant" (besides the ridiculous name) was that it was staffed by a bunch of total assholes. If the food's good and the people friendly, I can look past the building.

Oh and they would never turn on the AC. Morons.

Are they going to comp food for the Editor?

Who knows if the Editor will get his food comped anonymous, but I got a comped meal from your Mom last night after I knocked the bottom out of that thing. Tell her hi from me the next time you see her.

Wow, someone's got some anger management issues.

Anon at 1:16 has a valid question, JC's credibility in these matters is shot, not that they ever really had any to start with. They should stcik with following and making fun of homeless people, THAT is what they are good at.

The Compound said...

JC is good at having a successful blog with over 1000 readers a day, nonsense, "faggotry," entertainment news, useless information, gossip, and some restaurant opinions, our opinions. Take it as you wish, this started out as fun for a group of friends. "irregardless" you still read it, and thats what we love. If you hate it, dont read it. But we know you will still. "Irregardless."

The Compound said...

Oh and I totally forgot, we LOVE getting everything for free. I went in Wachovia the other day to refinance my house, and they said, oh, arent you with JC? I said, well yeah. They said, oh, well here honey, your house is paid for, our treat!

Saw a Unibroue van there yesterday. We probably can't count on cheap (or even relevant) beers.

I'm getting the distinct "falafel in a jiffy store" feeling.

It is cruel to make fun of homeless people.

Anonymous said...

But hilarious.

Anonymous said...

you guys are awful. . I love it!

Anonymous said...

1000 readers a day? Thats a lie. There is no way they have 1000 UNIQUE daily visitors. Maybe in page hits but not people. You guys are not only racist (unibrow) and cruel (laughing at the homeless) but liars as well. Such character!

Anonymous said...

Google analytics dont lie and its unique hits.

Anonymous said...

@Anynymous 7:50. Thanks for being an avid reader, obviously you love the content. Thanks to you, unique reader #1000.

Anonymous said...

Funny that the only point they dispute over 7:50's comment is the traffic report. The other points elicit no response.

Anonymous said...

Thats because everyone loves to read JC, otherwise you wouldnt be here! Dispute that.

Anonymous said...

What a little cheerleader you are, you a JC groupie?

The Editor said...

Aren't they (you) all? We like to take you back to the hot tub and _________ all night long and then _____________ and then make you strut down the walk of shame. Boo Yow!

Anonymous said...

Wow! Didn't think I would start that line of posts. Of course, the editor has been corrupted since he started JC. It was good at first then he found out he could get free stuff and thought it would be fun to post things about other people that he wanted to make fun of. He edits the comments and doesn't post the ones that are raising questions about the integrity or lack of thereof about the Editor or JC. It is cool if that is how he wants to run his blog. It is his blog. But I know he doesn't get 1000 unique hits a day. ROTFL!!!!

Why don't you review European Street Cafe? You go there and it is obvious that it is the only restaurant in the Riverside area that has not been reviewed. Just a question is the restaurant sacrosant from review because we all know the quality of the food?

wildbill said...

obvious huh?
Biscottis, Sterlings,Pine Grove, The fountain, Whiteway, The Row, Michaels, Judsons, Five Guys....

Anonymous said...

All of those have been done or had a blog posted about them, but none for European Street Cafe. Besides Pine Grove is really not a restuarant.

Anonymous said...

In addition "wildbill" or whoever, 5 Guys and Fries is reviewed on JC. Can you read? Almost the top of the list of restaurants.....

Anonymous said...

wah! so he missed one....
Pine Grove not a restaurant? I've got a seat, I've got a menu, I eat some food....I actually wish I went somewhere else, um, like European Street. I take a seat, I've got a menu, I eat some food...I wish I went somewhere else, dang!
You all are a lot of fun! Keep reading JC so you can write more nonsense and give me a giggle. Pleeease. Thanks!

I don't even think e-street needs a review. It's consistently good if you like sandwiches and beer. If you've lived in Riverside (or anywhere in Jacksonville for any amount of time) you have to have been to E-street. So I really don't see why it's a huge deal that it's not reviewed.

Anonymous said...

E Street is "good" if you like Sysco food!!! Nothing like Sysco meat and soup right out of the package at $10 a sandwich. The beer is beer, unless you drink the overpriced bottled beer. Get a gripe on reality. "Good"????????

Anonymous said...

2:05.. funny I said the same thing about your mom.

Anonymous said...

BTW... I work at European Street. We no longer get our food from "SYSCO". We get it from US Food Services. Boom. Roasted.

The Editor said...

Ha! Boom Baby!

ENGRISH ALERT!!!! "gripe" or "grip" on reality. c'mon retards.
