Happenings at the 5 Points Theatre

This week the 5 Points Theatre is showing two Iraq War themed movies; In The Loop (7 pm everyday with a 5 pm matinee on the weekends) - a satire about the political aspects of the war, and The Hurt Locker (9 pm everyday) - deals with the current reality of the conflict.

Next month (tomorrow) the kids movies will officially start with Babe on September 1st and 5th at 11:00 am, then the classic 1973 cartoon Charlotte's Web which will play on September 8th and 12th at 11:00 am as well. Tickets are $5 for these showings.

The Theatre will show the classic 1977 documentary Pumping Iron (which features a young Arnold Schwartzenegger) on Friday, September 4th, in conjunction with the opening of Flat File Gallery's exhibition "Show Off".

October will be one year anniversary for the theatre. They'll be showing movies for FREE on Friday, October 2nd (during First Friday in Five Points) - Casablanca and Raiders of the Lost Ark. These were the first two movies played at the re-opening of the theatre.
