The 5 Points Theatre will host three special events next week. The first "Works in Progress" event for filmmakers and film industry workers will be held on Monday, September 21st at 6 pm. The events will be held monthly in collaboration with the Jacksonville Film Festival. A new movie version of the opera La Boheme will premiere on Wednesday, September 23rd at 7 pm, with an encore on Sunday, September 27th at 2 pm. Tickets are $12, or $10 with senior, student or military ID. The 12th annual Manhattan Short Film Festival is Thursday, September 24th at 7 pm. The Festival will show 10 short films from around the world (out of over 500 submitted). Viewers around the world are invited to vote on the best film. As a special tribute to the recently deceased Patrick Swayze the theater will be showing Dirty Dancing as its midnight movie on Friday, September 25th.
