Uptown Market

Jason and Mark popped in to the new Uptown Market in Springfield (3rd and Main Streets) for breakfast a few days ago, took pictures, and reported in about their experience. Jason ordered the breakfast bowl and Mark ordered the breakfast burrito. Both were very good, but the burrito took the cake....it was HUGE!

Our service was super fast thanks to our awesome waitress Emily.

Here are the current menus, which we were told will be changing very soon.

Their three day GRAND OPENING starts today (Friday) with wine and beer tasting. Saturday is a family fun day with FREE HAMBURGERS AND HOT DOGS, and Sunday they're doing brunch with Jazz and complementary MIMOSAS.

I think you guys had a slightly different experience than my 2 visits to Uptown for breakfast.

The 1st visit my eggs ordered over-medium, arrived fried through and through. The home fries were raw! It's like they just cut up some potatoes threw them in a pan just to coat them in grease and warm them up a bit.

2nd visit: I did not get to experience the fast service you did from Emily. In fact, I got the feeling that we were keeping her from something more important despite use being her only table at the time. As for the food, I only had to send the toast (which was not only not toast, but not even warm bread) back this time.

I have grand hopes for uptown and will return. Just not anytime soon.

Another free meal

Of course it was free meal. This is Jacksonville Confidential. The whole point is free stuff and to make sure Jason and Mark get there 15 minutes of fame on the internet.

Yes JC gets everything for free. Free meals, free cars, free homes, free vacations. You name it.

I think you mean "their 15 minutes."

Had breakfast from them last week. Steel cut oatmeal was excellent!! Breakfast burrito was sad! It had overcooked meat, and over sized "home fries" as filling. Overall would try again since it was 50/50.
