We've noticed that long-time Murray Hill greasy spoon Dave's Diner (954 Edgewood Avenue South) has been closed and all the of the windows papered up for a few weeks now. Jason drove by early last week and noticed that people were working inside the building and it looked like there were some substantial renovations beginning, but this is unconfirmed...just a quick drive-by observation. We've also received quite a few e-mails asking, "what's going on at Dave's". Do any of you guys have the skinny?

I heard that they lost their lease and the new owner's renovating to open a luncheon-type diner.
i'm surprised it wasn't condemned...that place was NASTY
I heard that the owners of Park Place are renovating it and will be reopening soon.
Hey what movie was filmed at Dave's Diner? I can't remember the name of it!!
