This guy truly has an entrepreneurial spirit, he was standing at the base of the Fuller Warren at Park Street asking for money like the other panhandlers that frequent the spot. UNLIKE the other panhandlers, this fella offers goods in exchange for a "donation" (as he called). Believe it or not, we actually emptied out our ashtray of pennies and applauded him for his efforts. At least he's making an attempt to provide you with a tangible item....albeit obviously collected from a dumpster nearby. Kudos to you Mr. Homeless person.

Does anyone remember "Markie" from wallstreet lounge? the little guy used to get second hand flowers from local florists and collect from yards, and sell them in 5 Points to cover his bar tab.He rode the ten speed and dressed like a bike messenger.
YES!! Marky used to frequent all of the Riverside haunts including the infamous 3D. He was a lost soul and I had the honor of helping him out on more than a few occasions. He has a daughter that is probably in her mid to late 20's and may still be in the area. I hosted an impromptu birthday party for her YEARS ago so Marky could give her a homemade present. It was a very sad affair and I feel honored to have been able to bring them together. Rumor has it that he and his family owned the HUGE B&B that is somewhere in Riverside around like Oak and Goodwin or thereabouts. I even dropped him off a few times after the club back in the day at the estate. He lived in a garage apartment in the back. Very sad.
Yes, people, believe it or not I do have a heart. But only for those that I dont think can subside on their own.
Now that Ive had a few minutes to ponder about Marky, Im PRETTY SURE that I heard he passed a few (maybe 5 or so) years ago of an alcohol related disease.
I heard his family finally intervened and took him out of state to recover from a couple different substances. I heard he had passed also. Rumors had it that he and his family were wealthy.My bro went to wallstreet one Halloween dressed as Markie,and he was flattered!
there is also a "He's alive and clean" in Arizona rumour....he was for a time sending cindy at fans and stoves an ocassional card.He would get his vases there.
