Salty's Seafood and Steaks (1965 Lane Avenue South) has been a Westside staple for over 20 years. The "Home of the Surfing Cow" offers up a Beach Road Chicken type atmosphere of the seafood and steak kind, no frills just good ole down home cookin' and hospitality. Don't expect a classy, or even casual, setting at this hole-in-the-wall gem. Do expect a heaping helping of fried, baked, or grilled fare for a, fairly, reasonable price. A mainstay attraction is the "tossing of the salad" (can't help but LOL) at your table with their signature house dressing, which is also available for purchase by the bottle. Jason and Mark stopped in the other day and had a great experience. Jason had a fried trio of shrimp, deviled crab, and chicken fingers. Mark had the HUGE prime rib. All delivered quickly to the table by the friendliest of servers. Needless to say, their plates were clean by the end of the meal and they both left extremely satisfied. Stop in and check out Salty's.

Girl....Mama eat there every damn week!! They effing rock!! The maueve color scheme and ac window units only add to this westside charmer.
If they are too lazy to take the Christmas decorations down then it is a safe bet they don't keep sanitation as a high priority.
A little pricey if I remember correctly from the last time I went there. And the food was ok, not great. JL Trents is better IMO.
The lettuce in the salad looks like it's seen better days.
