Island Grill on Cooter Island

We have some, sorta, bad news...the restaurant that was briefly known as Cooter Island is in the midst of another name change to Island Grill on Cooter Island, a couple of readers and JC staff members noticed that the sign has been painted over.

In similar news, a few JC staff members popped by the oddly situated grill/bar this past Sunday and they had a blast. Mark spoke with the owner, Johnny, who informed him of the newest name change. We're happy as long as "cooter" remains somewhere in the moniker. Joe(y) snapped a perfectly representative photo of the visit. Notice the boat, train, and power station....so much to look at.

They did have $1.50 beers, regular price.

I'm thinking of the bands, "train" and "power station" ....do they have theme nights where they feature music by the fore mentioned groups and serve "boat" drinks and cheeseburgers from paradise????

Nice atmosphere next to an electric plant. It's a shame we don't have a nuclear tower in town for them to have a patio bar next to. Or a landfill. Might as well keep the name Cooter.

Jason, you couldn't photoshop a plane into the background...and a bicycle? And a segway and maybe some other modes of transportation?

That photo rocks. It looks like one of those "Circle the things that don't belong" games you did when you were a kid. (I'm refering to the boat on the deck of a bar, the electrical plant in the background, and the train screaming in the background; not the 8 beers for 5 people).
