Happenings at the 5 Points Theatre

Here’s what’s going on at the 5 Points Theatre this week and in the near future.

They are showing the new Roman Polanski thriller The Ghost Writer followed by The Runaways as the late movie. The schedule for the Friday night late movies has changed a bit and is as follows (for now):

April 30 - Easy Rider - Midnight
May 7 - Enter the Dragon - Midnight (a vintage Bruce Lee flick - To Be Confirmed)
May 14 - Animal House (To Be Confirmed)
May 21 - The Thing - 11 pm (the John Carpenter version)

The theater will also be showing a very special episode of the TV show Glee featuring local actor Moonpie on Tuesday, May 4th at 9 pm.  Click Here for more information.

This Friday, April 30th, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo opens.  This movie is based on a novel which was the 2nd best-selling book in the world in 2009.  Jack Shad and his wife saw the screener last weekend, and Mrs. Shad described it as "a Swedish Silence of the Lambs."

Jack is also thinking about showing the movie Blood into Wine about Maynard Keenan’s (the lead singer from Tool) attempt to start a winery in Arizona. The theater is only going to show the movie if enough people buy tickets. Click Here to check out a coupon deal for the movie and let us know if you are interested in seeing it.
