African American actor Donald Glover (the black guy on Community) is currently seeking the role of Spider-Man for the reboot of the series via an intenet campaign. The news reached the comic book creator Stan Lee and here’s what he had to say…. "Everybody seems to be familiar with Spider-Man, so I say that it isn't that it's a racial issue - it's just that it might be confusing to people. But that's a matter for the people at Marvel to take into consideration. I certainly don't want to weigh in on it in any way, except to say I think Glover is a fine actor."" I certainly think he should have a chance to audition….white characters Kingpin and Nick Fury were played by African-American actors in film…but that might not work in the case of Spider-Man.”
Who’s next? Thor? Aquaman? Jabberjaw? (Okay, he was a great white shark but could you see him played by a black fin reef shark? NO). Video below.
