Is it a viral marketing campaign for Smirnoff Ice or is it just a really stupid drinking game? We’re talking about the newest fad around college campuses everywhere called “Icing”. Here’s the gist….

Hand a friend a Smirnoff Ice malt beverage and he/she has to drink it on one knee, all at once — unless he/she is carrying a bottle him/herself, in which case the attacker must drink both bottles of the disgusting beverage.

That’s really about all there is to it. We think it’s totally a marketing ploy even though Smirnoff claims it isn’t. According to some reports, Smirnoff Ice has been flying off grocery store shelves in college towns because no one wants to be caught off guard without a bottle on their person to thwart off attacks and the possibility of having to down one.
