A few details have come out about the recent closings of The Loft, Rogue, and Walkers due to stop work orders at today's "Park and King" meeting between some of the business owners from the district. Mikey from Kickbacks sent us this message... We'll keep you posted."Originally the cops were responding to a noise complaint for walkers. While they were there, found that there were no permits to be in business. So they went to check loft and rogue for the same thing and discovered there were no construction permits for those two places. That's all i could get. Kerry Speckman is gonna research it a little more to see if there's more to it, cause we were wondering why there were so many cops there just for no permits."

a noise complaint at Walkers? Rly? Is this the christian arm of the law reaching out and closing establishments again?
doubtful todd, if it were; Park Place would have been surrounded by folks with pitchforks and torches!
I was at the Rouge and the Loft Saturday night (7/10) and I did notice there was live music outside at Walkers late into the night. It wasn't a loud band, just some guy with a mic and guitar, but it may have been too loud for 1:30am.
As far as these bars running without any of the required permits; that is just plain irresponsible on the part of the owner. I've heard he got deep in debt with the loan sharks to open these places, but I ain't one to gossip so you didn't hear that from me. Hope he plays his cards right. For his sake and ours... we need more bars in more places.
Looked like Walkers was open last night.
Police were responding to a noise complaint at Walkers before it was open? Police arrived in the 2pm hour. Someone went digging to get these places shut down and made the right phone calls...the competition perhaps? The violations were not to the point of closing down the businesses. A terrible overreaction.
"Noise complaint at Walkers"? that has to be a joke. It must have been the sound of a pin dropping.
