If you guys haven’t already heard, we have FANTASTIC news…there’s a Mojo Barbecue (or something like that, they’ve yet to decide on the actual name, Mojo-something for sure) coming to Avondale at 3572-2 St. Johns Avenue in the Shoppes of Avondale. Owner Todd Lineberry is hoping to have the newest edition to the Mojo family open by February 1st, 2011. The restaurant will feature live music on the weekends and, possibly, delivery service (that would be effing AWESOME!). If you haven’t been to one of the three already existing Mojo eateries around town you should definitely try them out, they’re deeeelish. As a matter of fact, Jason, Robyn, and David ate at the Mojo Bar-B-Que in Lakewood just the other day. Check out some pics of their delectable dishes: Pulled Pork, Sliced Turkey, and a Grill Chicken Salad (on the light side)…

I would not bet the farm on this place, they are facing major opposition from the merchant association and adjoining residents due to the already bad parking situation.
Screw the other merchants, their old and outdated. Half off those stores dont sell shit and the only reason they are open is to keep some wealthy wives busy while their husbands are at work.
America is overweight anyways so having to park farther than 30 feet from the door and having to walk might be good for some of these people.
Ha, ha like the merchant association will present a unified front on this. Truth be told most of these business owners hate one another and can't even agree on unified events at Avondale. It amazes me that a lot of these places even stay in business, the comment above is probably spot on, most of these shops are a result of rich daddy/mommy/husband pouring money down the drain to keep their wife/daughter/son/mistress, etc. busy.
Most of the rich/bored housewife types you guys are referencing have long since departed the merchant scene (Karen Johnson of Bon Nuit may the lone exception) and what remains is Anita of Let Them Eat cake, Diane Garcia of Chicos, Willie Hyde of Wilies (who has survived for decades and thrived), Gayle Kearns of Yours Truely and Karen and Barbara of Biscottis hardly fit this mold of Business women. Instead, they are all hard working and smart business people who have a vested interest in parking availability for their respective businesses. Additionally, the adjacent residents are at rick of being overrun with cars parking in front of their homes, trampling over their lawns and blocking their driveways for blocks in all directions. There is no shortage of jackasses who sit around in their underware, on the computer, picking their noses while they fart out their disturbingly uninformed opinions,
PARKING PROBLEM FIXED!!
park at Woody's and ride a shuttle to Mojo....
I've not even tasted Mojo, but know that it must be better than Woody's...a napkin from Sonny's is better than Woody's.

People who live in the areas around Avondale can't complain about cars parking in front of their houses. They are the ones who have made the choice to live next to a retail environment. Its not like a shopping center popped up in their neighborhood overnight.
I love Anita, she's awesome.
I'll have another red velvet cupcake please. YUM!
