RIP - John Hughes

OMG! Film Director, Producer, and Writer John Hughes died today of a heart attack. Hughes was famous for his catalog of some of our favorite movies from the 80's and 90's like Ferris Buellers Day Off, National Lampoon's Vacation, Weird Science, The Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Pretty in Pink, Planes, Trains and Automobiles, Uncle Buck, and Home Alone. He was only 59.

An 80s icon. Weird that he's dead.

This sucks. I was always hoping he'd made a Terrance Malick/Stanley Kubrick type comeback, giving us another great teen comedy. Nobody else could write teen comedies like he could -- he made the characters real, not cliched, and the stories were timeless.
