What's On Your Plate? At Three Layers

This Saturday, April 17th, at 7:30PM, Three Layers a Coffeehouse (1602 Walnut Street) will be showing a special screening of What’s On Your Plate. The family friendly flick was filmed over the course of one year, and follows two eleven-year-old multi-racial city kids as they explore their place in the food chain. Sadie and Safiyah take a close look at food systems in New York City and its surrounding areas. With the camera as their companion, the girl guides talk to each other, food activists, farmers, new friends, storekeepers, their families, and the viewer, in their quest to understand what’s on all of our plates.

The screening is hosted by Operation New Hope’s Urban Gardens and everyone is invited to this free event. There will be popcorn, snacks and drinks for sale at the event and all profits made from the sale of these items will go directly to the Urban Gardens. Be sure to bring a blanket or chair to sit on.p>

Thanks Allison
