Be the Next Dorothy

Who wants a pair of ruby red slippers encrusted with Swarovski Crystals? You do? Then be sure to be at the Regency Mall on August 23rd and 24th for your chance to audition for the part of Dorothy in WiZaRD, a new play based on the classic book/movie The Wizard of Oz. This take on the classic tale is centered around the works of Wizard of Oz composer Harold Arlen.

The winning contestant will be cast in the Harold Arlen Foundation Production of WiZaRD in New York, in December. WiZaRD will be mounted at Lincoln Center (or comparable property), for three days, before it moves to Off-Broadway in the heart of the New York Theater District. WiZaRD, which has been work shopped as WIZARD: The Musical Journey of Harold Arlen, in 22 cities across America, has undergone a rewrite and facelift.

Because the show is being produced by the Foundation, proceeds from the ticket sales will support the Foundation's mission to keep music education in schools.  Not only will proceeds from the show benefit music in schools, but a portion of the tickets from every show will be made available to the under-served children of the public school system of the New York Tri-State area.
