Awesomeness Reminders

How awesome are you? If you require daily affirmations as to your awesomeness you can now subscribe to Awesomeness Reminders. If you sign up, a live human being from the company will call you up each and every day to tell you just how amazingly awesome you are. If you don’t answer, they will happily leave you a voicemail to that effect. According to the website’s creator, Zack Burt

”…social reinforcement is critical to maintaining our "frames", also known as our "point of view". Getting positive social feedback, via a daily reminder call, is instrumental to progress. Experts agree…social feedback has clear effects on self-esteem, even if individuals claim that they are unaffected by social feedback.”

Fortunately, we here at Jacksonville Confidential get constant daily reminders from our fantastic readers about how awesome we are, so no need to drop a dime on this website. But it sounds like an excellent idea for those of you who do not get the reinforcement required to feel awesome on a daily basis.

Awesomeness reminders has raised its prices from 10 dollars to 40 dollars since it launched. While the basic idea is good, they're going too far with that. I think SmileCalls is an interesting competitor in this field. I'm not sure everybody finds this sort of thing useful, but its interesting to see how these unique business ideas really only flourish in America where creativity is king.
